They came to a place called "The Skull" and they nailed his arms and feet to the cross, lifting him up into the air. But Jesus said, "Father, forgive them because they do not know what they are doing." According to Pilate's command, the soldiers put a sign above Jesus' head that said, "King of the Jews." The Jewish leaders complained about this to Pilate, but he said, "What I have written stays written." [1]
